John Greska is a Chicago-based singer-songwriter and technical sound designer whose heartfelt indie-pop and folk-inflected music blends classical instrumentation with electronic elements and immersive soundscapes. A University of Illinois graduate in Music Technology, he honed his craft in game audio and film studios before co-founding indie game studio Trashfire Games.

Since releasing instrumental records like Day to Day Thoughts (2018) and Life as an Ocean (2019), John transitioned into vocal indie-pop with 2020’s Aiming At The Stars, featuring introspective tracks that explore routine, dreams, and emotional depth. His subsequent singles—“Suburban Child,” “Mama Maybe,” and “Sweater Aesthetic”—have gained attention for their relatable storytelling, thoughtful lyricism, and genre-spanning arrangements.

In late 2024, he joined Paper Garden’s Digs series in collaboration with Blim & Blum, releasing “Sweater Aesthetic” as a charity single benefiting The Trevor Project—paired with a distinctive lyric-print art campaign. Inspired by artists like Simon & Garfunkel, his work resonates with warmth and introspection, seamlessly weaving personal reflection with evocative sonic texture.

John continues to expand his creative horizons—writing, producing, and exploring interactive sound design in Unity, FMOD, Wwise, Unreal Engine, and VR. Whether through a poignant melody or immersive soundscape, his music invites listeners into moments both intimate and expansive.
