A few short weeks ago, Paper Garden introduced our newest signing, CONVEYOR.  Now we have the delight of sharing the news that will give thousands of people the chance to see the band live. In support of the band’s self-titled debut release on July 17 with Paper Garden Records, Conveyor is now announcing their full tour across the U.S. and Canada!

The band is no stranger to the stage, having played many of NYC’s favorite venues including (le) Poisson Rouge, Glasslands, Mercury Lounge and Pianos as well as a handful of high profile events such as SXSW, a Brooklyn Filmshop Collective show at Music Hall of Williamsburg and Earth Day where they set up outdoors at Grand Central Station.  Throughout this multitude of shows, Conveyor has shared the stage with a handful of esteemed bands including Kishi Bashi, Firehorse, Lucius, Miracles of Modern Science, Bryan Scary, Hundred Waters, and Snowmine, and will be teaming up with more indie greats including Spanish Prisoners, Fierce Creatures, and The Deloreans. Conveyor is now prepped and ready to embark on this 5-week tour, conveying their unique music through their scintillating live show.

SXSW 2011 was phenomenal for Paper Garden & The Lovely Hearts Club. This year, we are going even bigger and better – setting up a Paper Garden fort for 4 full days. Showcasing 30+ bands over the first 3 days (3/14, 3/15, 3/16) and a featuring unique solar-panel sound installation called Sun Boxes & more surprises TBA on our recovery/hangover day (3/18), we have established a solid week of events featuring extraordinary talent from across the world. On top of the diverse and exciting group of bands that Paper Garden is bringing in directly, we are also partnering with three of our favorite music blogs for each day (Pigeons & Planes, My Old Kentucky Blog, The Wild Honey Pie) to co-curate some of today’s most buzz-worthy acts across all genres.

In addition to the musical talent, we have partnered up with some amazing sponsors this year. Moniker Guitars will be present again this year, giving away some custom guitar-related goodies, Thinglink will be demonstrating the launch of their new Facebook Tabs (check out an example HERE), Threads For Thought will be doing a raffle/giveaway of their sustainable and environmentally friendly clothing, Ralph & Charlies is hooking us up with some delicious AND healthy juices and to hydrate everyone even further in the heat of Austin, Vitamin Water will be supplying product throughout the week.

Lovely Hearts Club Presents: Conveyor – Mukraker

We have been hooked on Conveyor ever since their EP “Sun Ray” landed on our doorstep. (Note to bands: handing out your music on freaky orange 12″ vinyl is one sure way to get a label to give your demo a spin.) Unfortunately, we caught wind of this Brooklyn based quartet too late and missed out on their CMJ show. Apparently they impressed a few folks so much that We Listen For You decided on “Sun Ray” as the first ever We Listen For You Record Club selection. Now we have three copies of this beautiful wax at Paper Garden & Lovely Hearts Club headquarters and in no way is that depressing! Conveyor has this rare ability to repeat the same few lyrics over and over and over with their folk-inspired melodies and catchy synth to the point that you feel it in your bones. BreakThru Radio has pinned them as a hybrid between Iron & Wine with Caribou but we can’t shake this feeling that they are channeling their inner Aqueduct at times.

Well out with the old and in with the new in 2012 because One Thirty BPM has just premiered a new track called “Mukraker” and have deemed it Conveyor’s best song yet! It definitely has got everyone we know excited about their forthcoming full album.  The band has also began locking down tour dates across the entirety of the US for Summer 2012, so be on the lookout for a live show in your town!

You can stream the track here or head over to their bandcamp starting January 2nd for a digital fix, until the 7″ split with fellow Brooklynites Illuminator is available.  Conveyor has also brought us a delicious new treat in the form of BreakThru Radio’s Hear & There session, where they cook up a stripped back version of “Mukraker” in a posh Williamsburg kitchen. Even though the band is extremely busy making new music for us they still find time to chat with fans on the internet so get to following them on Twitter and Facebook. Hope to see everyone who lives within a 30-mile radius of Glasslands on January 5 as Conveyor gets down with ILLUMINATOR, Teletextile, and fellow Lovely Hearts Club band, Snowmine.

Well, our CMJ went swimmingly this year and we sure hope yours did too! But what are we supposed to do now? Worry about what to be for Halloween? I personally am sitting here all befuddled, my hand still in this slight c-shape…I really got too accustomed to all that beer holding. Anyway, a huge thank-you-so-much to all who came out to both of our showcases at the Living Room last week! We had FUN.

We were especially psyched to have a bunch of our European buddies make the trip overseas to play with us. We’re talking to you, Big Scary Monsters crew, Tall Ships and Dad Rocks! (both of whom played our Paper Garden Recs showcase on Tuesday and killed it!) We had a blast with y’all! We’re so psyched to be handling the U.S. release of Dad Rocks! Mount Modern full-length on November 11th.

Dad Rocks!

An especially warm shout-out to all the folks who gave us some good press this week! We really appreciate the words and support! So without further ado, *MUCHAS GRACIAS* to NPR, Brooklyn Vegan, The Wild Honey Pie, NY Times, Death + TaxesKEXP, and everyone else who gave us mentions!

Most of all we are really so grateful for the slew of truly amazing bands who joined us last week. Be sure to check out our Soundcloud page to hear the live recordings from their sets! Everyone sounded impeccable. Here’s a little taste:

DC’s Pree are in the midst of a crazy long Fall tour in support of their recently released record, Folly, but luckily were able to come through NYC to play our Official PGR Showcase. Thanks guys! Their set even earned a coveted mention among NPR/All Songs Considered‘s CMJ highlights!

Pree

Also present at our PGR Showcase were our besties Big Tree! We’re just crazy about these guys and were so happy to send them off on their fall tour in support of This New Year, released just this month.

Big Tree

And as always, our label darlings The City and Horses graced our afternoon with a wonderful set. Have you listened to their latest release, We Will Never Be Discovered, yet? Get on it!

The City and Horses

Saturday afternoon we reconvened back at The Living Room for our Official Lovely Hearts Club CMJ showcase. We were so lucky to lock down some really incredible acts! Belgrave, Swear and Shake, Team Genius, Gun Lake, AND Snowmine?! We must be doing something right. Thanks again, everybody! Now we detox till’ SXSW!

The 3rd annual Multiverse Playground music/art/fun fest was a huge success, y’all! A big ‘thanks-so-much’ to everyone who came out and partied with us!

Pree at Multiverse Playground

Our budz from Ugly Art Room contributed some really amazing visual art (aka ‘headspace’, check it out) as well as a photographer to document all of the righteous fun everyone was having.

Caged Animals

Our pals from Street Carnage also came by to capture any and all they deemed worthy of the honorable Street Boner title. And if you still somehow didn’t manage to get your mug in a photo, you could hop into the PBR photobooth for good measure.

Meanwhile our oh-so-generous sponsors, PBR and Vitamin Water donated tons of free drinks to keep our precious party goers satiated. Also present were the always innovative Thinglink, Livetapp, and Grooveshark. Rad! Our very own tiny Heidi Greenwood manned the grill, slingin’ dogs out like a pro while DJ sets from Delicate Steve, Bear Hands, and DJ BearBait (Pattern is Movement) spun the jams in between sets. Comedy sets from Chris Betts, Funny Aaron, and more were definite highlights. And the bands! Oh, the bands! None of this would have made any sense without you. So, THANK-YOU to each and every one of you!

Until next year!
