The CMJ Music Marathon has come to a close for another year, and as we symptomatically withdraw from nine Conveyor shows, 3 Pree shows, 2 showcases and a lot of free alcohol, we rejoice and reflect on our most successful CMJ to date *Happy Sigh*.

Let us brag… so did you see Conveyor in The New York Times, not once but thrice!? Jon Pareles took an early liking to the band with his opening article ‘CMJ: A Promising Start‘ setting the stage for praise upon praise from some of our favorite outlets such as Nylon, Bonnaroo, Grooveshark, Prefix Magazine, QRO Magazine, Verbicide and a ton more. They made two more appearances in the times, firstly on Mr Pareles’ CMJ Spotify Playlist and secondly with a couple of snaps taken at their Fontana’s Showcase!

Noisey /Vice snapped Eli Mardock and Natureboy at our Tuesday showcase, Pree made their way onto the NPR CMJ Playlist and The City and Horses made a lasting impression on the Life of Lito.

While we may have provided the music, our lovely sponsors are to thank for turning the party-knotch up to 11 with free beer flowing from Speakeasy Beers, free wine from HobNob, and of course 4 bicycles given away thanks to Schwinn!

Oh, and you know even though CMJ is over, our engines are still running and there is plenty more chances coming up to see our bands in NYC and beyond. Here’s a few excuses to see us again..

This Dublin based guitar-shredding group of rockers, Bouts, landed in our inbox thanks to an old Paper Garden intern who is now our consultant on all the Irish goods. If you don’t think the Irish know how to have a good time just watch the video Bouts made of “Turn Away”, off their latest release, where they pile a group of their closest friends inside four small walls of a Japanese Karaoke booth, cover those walls with the song’s lyrics and pass around a bottle of Ireland’s finest drink and a microphone.  You probably guessed that this is one of their more sing-along songs so for a heavy dose of their guitar loudness, stream and get a free download of “We Tried” off their self titled EP Bouts, which was released Oct 2011 and is up for free on Bandcamp.

By the end of 2012 the band will have played nearly 50 shows including numerous Irish festivals and in support of bands like We Were Promised Jetpacks, Wintersleep and Presidents of The USA. They somehow found time to put out a limited edition double A-side 7 inch “Get Sick”//”Turn Away” in March. It’s almost sold out but you can still order a copy here or, if you are one of the chosen ones who live in NYC, just grab one when you see the band perform during CMJ! That’s right, they were selected to play at the Music From Ireland Showcases October 18 at Fat Baby and October 20 at The Irish Arts Center and we are very excited to announce that they will be playing at our Lovely Hearts Club Showcase Friday, October 19 at Spike Hill!

So keep up with the band on FacebookTwitter and Tumblr for additional NYC shows and updates on their sophmore album set to release in 2013. Already the band has created a sound that has been likened to Weezer, The Pixies, Pavement and Yo La Tengo so we are excited to see what they will come up with next!

CONVEYOR‘s album has officially been released and we couldn’t be more excited! Within the first week, the album has already been killing it on the digital retail front, being featured in various curated sections on both iTunes (U.S. and Australia) and Amazon!

Outside of the traditional digital retailers, we’re super excited to be one of the first to set up a kiosk store on Rekiosk.com, where fans, bloggers, tastemakers and more act as distributors and everybody gets paid!  They just opened up the service today, and we hightly recommend you check it out! To get a better idea of how it works, sneak a peak at their promo video below:

Conveyor’s hype doesn’t stop at retail, though, as the band has just made a pretty grand leap on the college radio front, jumping from CMJ’s top 200 up to their top 100 within 1 week, grabbing the #1 spot on KFSR in Fresno and into the top #50 at KCRW in Los Angeles.

Industry and press continue to love Conveyor as well, with new sessions, in-stores, features, reviews, and interviews from Daytrotter, Grooveshark, Hipstamatic, Indie Rock Cafe, The Deli Magazine, Listen Before You Buy, and Buzz Bands LA to name a few.
