AN OPEN LETTER TO WILLIAM J. “B.” MURRAY

Mr. Murray,

This morning I went on a bike ride with three of my close friends.  Starting at 7:00 A.M. in Brooklyn, we biked south along Kent Ave. to the Williamsburg Bridge and crossed Manhattan via the westerly route that runs along Rivington St. to Bowery, jumps up to Prince St., angles onto Charlton St., jogs north to Houston St., and terminates at the Hudson River Greenway.  From there, we rode about 10.3 miles north to the base of the George Washington Bridge before stopping for breakfast and riding back to Brooklyn.  Along the way, we discussed a few different things, including:

Human biological attractions to water
The logistical ramifications of constructing a steel suspension bridge in 1931
Death (and its antecedent, Life)
The best possible pick-up line derivable wherefrom
Last night’s episode of “Louie” (FX Network, Thursdays at 10:30pm)
Our upcoming show at Glasslands Gallery on August 22, 2012
The rehabilitative properties of our living room couch

It was a reflective period of significant person-to-person bonding, shared psychological experiences with regard to aggregate physiological exertion, and new levels of understanding vis-à-vis the dynamic between the four of us.  We shared things about each other that we never had before, which reminds me: you may remember my roommate’s second cousin’s breasts; they appeared alongside you in “The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou” (Touchstone Pictures et al., 2004).  The whole trip was a worthwhile experience.

Speaking of, doors for the show next Wednesday are at 8:30 P.M., and guests are strongly discouraged from arriving before then; however, if you wanted to grab a bite to eat beforehand, I’d be more than glad to meet you outside of the venue.
