Last month, Little Tybee premiered their video for “Boxcar Fair,” from their album “For Distant Viewing,” which will be released in late Spring. It features a mini-sequence (created by artist Tom Haney) of a puppet explorer’s life, who ends up stumbling into a magical fair in the middle of the desert. “Boxcar Fair” was one out of 22 (out of 500 submitted) videos chosen for the Music Video Competition for SXSW 2012.

The screening date has yet to be announced, but check back in a few!

We’ve praised it time and again over the past couple months, but today is the day where Little Tybee‘s ‘Boxcar Fair’ is officially released on iTunes….and with a music video feature from them to-boot! Boxcar Fair will be on Little Tybee’s new album, “For Distant Viewing”, which will be released in late Spring.  This is the first time the song is available for download/purchase as well, so head on over to iTunes for a nice bundle of $1.49 for this epic music video + mp3!

We’ve been raving about it for a while now…and at last, the time has come for you to see it yourself!  Check out Little Tybee‘s ‘Boxcar Fair’ film featuring master puppetry from Tom Haney.

Boxcar Fair follows a wandering explorer who stumbles upon a magical fair in the middle of a desert. The piece was created by Brock Scott and artist Tom Haney for the band Little Tybee. The entire video was shot in one take with no cuts or edits.

After doubling their Kickstarter goal last month, Little Tybee celebrated by hosting a live performance of their ‘Boxcar Fair’ project to those lucky enough to be in Atlanta last weekend. For all of us who were unfortunately not in Atlanta, here is a behind the scenes peek at the making!

The video is in it’s final edits and will be released to eager eyes within the coming weeks, so stay tuned! We had the pleasure of catching a sneak peek of the rough cut in the office and it is absolutely spectacular.

Also, rumor has it, a new Little Tybee record should be ready by March 2012, just in time for SXSW!

Little Tybee‘s ‘Boxcar Fair’ collaboration with puppeteer Tom Haney has been featured in the official Kickstarter Newsletter, y’all! Not to mention, the pledged amount has already doubled that of the orginial goal!  There is still over a week left to back this amazing project so if you haven’t already please do pay a visit to the ‘Boxcar Fair’ page and pledge a few bucks! Besides contributing to an extremely exciting project, there are lots of special incentives to check out, including a custom-written song from Brock himself!

The ever-prolific band of artists that is Little Tybee have launched a Kickstarter project in order to raise funds for one of their most innovative, imaginative undertakings yet.

Many fans may not know that vocalist/guitarist Brock Scott also has a strong background in the visual arts, specifically in sculpture. And because the world is small and its great minds have a way of willing themselves toward one another, Little Tybee found themselves living just down the street from Atlanta puppeteer and visionary Tom Haney. Soon they met and something beautiful was born. “Boxcar Fair” is part musical performance, part kinetic sculpture, part puppet show about a sage wanderer and the characters he encounters through his sojourn. Tom Haney’s precisely handmade figures resonate with a certain pastoral beauty that suggests something deeply profound, forming a perfect marriage with the original score that Little Tybee has composed exclusively for this project.
